Learning Styles and Multiple Intelligences test your learning style Blooms taxonomy

We will take a brief look at learning styles and learning style inventories in a technology infused classroom.

This investigation is a five step process:

a) To begin we will look at some of the previous work on l
b) We will look at Blooms taxonomy
c) we will investigate Blooms taxonomy through a technology lens

The purpose of this exercise is t examine closely the many views of learning, and achieving student outcomes. Some teaching strategies have profoundly better impact and level of engagement then others thus a blended approach is recommended. There is no one strategy that will fit all students, some respond well to planned lessons, some student work wee in creating and expressing their ideas, others feel comfortable in groups and some students prefer to work alone. If you recall the days when students were asked to stand up in class and read a passage from a book, perhaps a good way to examine oral skills, however getting them to write about it publicly and getting feedback may be another task altogether. The objective is to embrace a blended approach for learning one that meets the needs of all learners and that allows students to develop their individual skills in a differentiated way, perhaps being aided by technology but mostly being able to create their own learning.

Values Based Planning

How does technology enable the teacher to meet students need?
How can it be measured?
What indicators do we use to measure student achievement?
What are some standards to measure success?
How do we measure technology effectiveness?

In this mini-lesson we will look at a brief line of thinking to generate standards of success so that in your own reflective practice you may e able to provide evidence that the teaching strategy utilized impacts student outcomes. This introductory session present a line of thinking prior to the activity and also provides a template for assessing potential outcomes of the use of the strategy utilized. Self reflection and the students reflection during and following the teaching moment are opportunities to measure and set standards for success that can be charted over time.
